The Boobrie by Domenica Falkenberg

I had left my livestock on the shore of Newfoundland when I was swarmed by a group of Bogels. I had to kick the sheep out of the way and off my ship in order to lock up these new ‘friends' up. That had been an odd day.

A week after losing my sheep, I could still hear their bahs. I stepped out onto the deck of my sailing vessel. I took a moment to appreciate the breeze on my face. Though, the feeling of calm was quickly replaced by fear and confusion. I squeezed my eyes and then opened them one at a time. In front of me, next to the large crate of Bogels, stands a new unworldly animal. It's large. At least three of me, and its tail is even bigger. It has an ethereal colour at the tips of their wings, which matched the shade of their beak. The being, perhaps a god, appeared to be floating. It mimicked the sound of sheep. Their attempt at luring my sheep in for a meal. This only made me more miserable as they were in Newfoundland. The ones they unknowingly cried to were the Bogels. Good like, Boobrie, I hope you find something tasty.
